Throught Slovenia

5,600 Slovenian cattle breeders are organized in 37 associations, responsible for professional education, counselling, collection and dissemination of various information etc. The umbrella association, GPZ z.o.o. – the Slovenian breeding organization of bovine species was founded in 2003 on the initiative of the national breeding organizations. Since 2007, the association has been publishing its own newspaper “Glas dežele” (Voice of the Country), intended mostly to breeders of bovine species, but increasingly it also covers other areas of agriculture. The newspaper is also available on the internet. The basic activity of the Slovenian breeding organization of bovine species (GPZ) is to raise the competitiveness of farms in all areas. In the last few years, breeding of bovine species in Slovenia has achieved remarkable progress and modernization, and we will also be able to admire it in the submitted excursion programme.
